THE HK KEJRIWAL YOUNG ARTIST AWARDS:
The HK Kejriwal Young Artist Awards was initiated in 1988 in Chitrakala Parishath to discover and promote young artists in the country. Since then more than 80 young artists have received the award, many of whom have acclaimed National and International recognition thereafter.
Mahua Art Gallery presents annual awards to artists below 40 years of age, giving cash prize by the HK Kejriwal Foundation and an opportunity to exhibit their works and be promoted by the gallery.
The HK Kejriwal Foundation is a non-profit, educational organization established in 1970 by Dr. Hari Kishore Kejriwal, a well-known art philanthropist, and an art collector. In recognition of his valuable contribution in the field of art and culture, Dr.Kejriwal was felicitated with the Honorary Doctorate Degree by the Roerich Institute, Moscow (October 2007). He is also a member in the Advisory Boards of many prestigious art institutions in the country including Karnataka Chitrakala Parishath (Bangalore), Rabindra Bharati University (Shantiniketan), Birla Academy of Art and Culture (Kolkata), Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Bangalore.
Dr. Kejriwal has donated a large part of his personal collection of contemporary and modern Indian art to the 20,000 square feet HK Kejriwal Museum housed in Chitrakala Parishath.
