Durgesh Birthare (b. 1985) received his B.F.A. from the Government Fine Art College, Dhar (2006) and M.F.A. from the Government Fine Art College, Indore (2009). He believes that abstract art represents the emotional stage of the artist, exploring the inner colours and language inherent in objects. Birthare’s works also depict the changes in Nature, what “is” through the formless “isn’t” of abstract art that is represented through layers and patterns. In a material world where deeper layers are left uncovered, he believes that “art is the means of awakening and bringing newness in society”. Birthare has taken part in several exhibitions in New Delhi, Vadodara, Hyderabad, Indore, Lucknow, Bhopal and others. He currently works as part of the faculty at the Painting Department of the Government Institute of Fine Art, Jabalpur, M.P.
