Prakash Nayak (b. 1972) received his B.F.A. from S.K.N. College, Dharwad, and M.F.A. from Vijay College of Fine Art, Karnataka University. His artworks have an earthen tone and depict personified portraits of motifs like the moon and sun. They draw from tribal references and are influenced by folk aesthetics. Nayak was awarded the Junior Fellowship from the Ministry of Tourism and Culture, Government of India. His works have shown in Bangalore, Mumbai, Hyderabad, and internationally in London, San Francisco, Dubai, Jakarta and Singapore among others.
