Anjali Sapra (b. 1967) is a Delhi-based artist who worked at Triveni Kala Sangam from 2001-2005, and went on to receive her training from senior artists under whom she studied the roots of Indian art. This path of discovery led her to look further into the origins of natural pigments, the creation of colour, and the transformation of rudimentary elements into brilliant, expressive hues when put on canvas. This delving into the heart of colour and processes also informed her art which is inspired by nature and the essence of being. Sapra’s works portray the spiritual journey of a humanity that yearns to elevate itself to light through its own processes. Apart from showing widely at exhibitions across the country, Sapra’s works are a part of collections in the U.K., U.S.A., Canada, Hong Kong, Thailand, Australia, SIngapore and others.
